Loanable Module Information
The Center for Meteorite Studies offers loanable classroom modules focusing on planetary science topics, Earth-Mars Comparions and The Origin of Meteorites, that can be loaned to K-12 and informal educators. Module lessons and activities will be aligned to the National Science Education Standards (Grades 5-12) and the Arizona Academic Content Standards.
Each module contains actual specimens (rocks, minerals, meteorites), 3D models, media resources (movies, animations, posters, maps, flash cards, books), lesson plans, slide presentations, training videos, and a detailed user guide. Educators can choose from a series of engaging activities within each module that utilize hands-on materials geared to help students develop logical thinking, analytical skills, and proficiency in STEM disciplines.

Educators can register online through this website and the ASU Mars Education program website to reserve the modules for two weeks at no cost. With the close linkage to other ASU education programs (specifically, the Mars Education Program), module trainings will be integrated into upcoming professional development workshops. Sign up to reserve a module (Earth-Mars Comparisons or The Origin of Meteorites) starting October 1, 2009. In the meantime, use the Loanable Module Registration Form on the left sidebar to let us know if you are interested in the loanable modules. Check back often for updates!
