Rendezvous with a Comet!

The European Space Agency's Rosetta spacecraft has arrived at Comet 67P/Churyumov–Gerasimenko!

Launched in 2004, Rosetta has spent the last ten years travelling the 405 million kilometres (just over 251 million miles) between Earth and the spacecraft's cometary destination.

New photos of the comet, taken by the onboard OSIRIS camera, have already provided detailed images of the cometary surface, as it travels through space at close to 55,000 kilometres per hour (over 34,000 mph).
