Meteor Crater Rim Tour: A guided one-hour 2.4 mile hike around the rim of Meteor Crater Friday, March 10th. There is minimal shade and it can be quite windy. Please wear appropriate footwear for a hike (no sandals) and dress appropriately (forecast is for a high temperature of 64 °F [~18 °C] on March 10th at Meteor Crater). You will be asked to sign a release form before boarding the bus at ASU.
Bring a water bottle, as Arizona is generally quite dry and dehydration is common.
We are pleased to note that ASU School of Earth and Space Exploration Professor Steven Semken will provide an introduction to the geology of Meteor Crater on the morning bus ride.
Excursion schedule
8AM – Depart ASU (ISTB4 lobby – plan to arrive at least 15min before)
11:45AM – Arrive Meteor Crater
Noon – Box lunch
1PM – Crater Rim guided tour
3PM – Depart Meteor Crater
7PM – Arrive ASU (ISTB4 lobby – time is approximate)
