Full Lunar Eclipse Oct 8!

The second full lunar eclipse of 2014 will occur in the early hours of Wednesday, October 8th.  The total eclipse will begin at 3:25 AM (PDT), and last 59 minutes.

Total lunar eclipses are the result of Earth moving between the sun and moon, such that Earth's shadow blocks the sun's light from reaching the moon.

This eclipse occurs during World Space Week!  The next full lunar eclipse will take place April 4, 2015.
